Arriving in Toledo

Welcome to Toledo, Spains former capital which crowds 2500 years of tangled history---Roman, Jewish, Visigothic, Moorish and Christian---onto a high, rocky perch protected on three sides by the Tajo River. Toledo has been declared a national monument and Europe's most powerful King, Charles V and famous artist El Greco called it home.

A nice way to see all the towns highlights

Sunset on Toledo

The Alhambra in Granada and the Nazaries Palace The Alhambra is the last and greatest Moorish palace in Spain and it was the last Moorish stronghold in Europe. The Nazarids were one of many diverse ethnic groups of Spanish Muslims that ruled from Granada until 1492. While Europe slumbered through the Dark Ages,Moorish magnificence blossomed as seen by the Alhambras ornate stucco, plaster "stalactites", colors galore, scalloped windows, exuberant gardens and water everywhere .
